    The overall picture of the power system. Load diagram coverage. Electricity markets and their agents. Components of electrical networks: lines. The electrical constants of electrical lines. Power system modeling for the steady state operation. Abnormal operating conditions. Short-circuit analysis. Rated values of lines. Components of electrical networks: switches, relais, protection systems. Overcurrent protection of lines. Condition of the neutral.

Arturo Losi was born in Naples; there, he got the Laurea Degree and the Ph.D. both in Electrical Engineering.
From 1988 he works at the Faculty of Engineering of the University of Cassino and LM; since 2000 he is Full Professor. He carried out research and teaching activities in the USA and in Hong Kong.
He teaches Power Systems Fundamentals and Technique, Economy and Markets of Electrical Energy. He carries research on modelling of, and optimization in, power systems.
He has served as Chair of Department, member of governing bodies of an international Consortium of research, Chair of an Italian interuniversity Consortium.

The most recent reseerch activities concern combined cycle power plants, and the demand participation to the electricity industry (demand response), carried out within national and international research projects.
