Hochschule Darmstadt (h_da) is one of the largest universities of applied sciences in Germany. It is located in Darmstadt, in the state of Hesse.
Formed from several well-established higher education institutions (some dating back to 1843) it was founded in 1971 under the name FHD- Fachhochschule Darmstadt and renamed in 2006 as h_da - Darmstadt University of Applied Sciences.
The university offers over 80 practice-oriented degree programmes across various disciplines, organised within 12 faculties:

 - Faculty of Chemical Engineering and Biotechnology
 - Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Information Technology
 - Faculty of Social Sciences
 - Faculty of Design
 - Faculty of Computer Science

 - Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences
 - Faculty of Media
 - Faculty of Social Work
 - Darmstadt Business School
 
With approximately 17,000 students, of whom around 18% are international, h_da provides a diverse and dynamic learning environment.
