The Universidad Politécnica de Cartagena (UPCT) is located in Cartagena, in the Murcia region of south-eastern Spain. The city has a rich historical and industrial heritage, and is one of the four public technical universities in Spain, founded in 1999.
It is organised into eight academic centres:
- School of Agronomics Engineering
- School of Industrial Engineering
- School of Naval and Oceanic Engineering
- School of Telecommunications Engineering
- Faculty of Economic and Business Sciences
- School of Civil and Mining Engineering
- School of Architecture and Building Engineering
- International Doctoral School (EINDOC)
UPCT is home to approximately 5,420 students, including around 4,450 undergraduate students, 670 Master's students, and 300 PhD students. The university also welcomes a growing number of international students, from Europe, Africa, Asia, and South America.
UPCT is committed to providing comprehensive education, high-quality teaching, and promoting research and technology transfer, guided by the principles of equity, transparency, good governance and the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
