The Universitatea Tehnică din Cluj-Napoca (UTCN), also known as the Technical University of Cluj-Napoca, is the largest technical university in Transylvania and is located in Cluj-Napoca, Romania - a vibrant city with a large student population.
It comprises 12 faculties across its two main academic centres in Cluj-Napoca and Baia Mare, as well as 4 subsidiaries in Alba-Iulia, Bistrița, Satu Mare and Zalău.
UTCN offers over 180 study programmes at the Bachelor's, Master's and Doctoral levels, as well as continuing training programmes. These programmes are primarily taught in Romanian, although some are available in international languages such as English, German and French.The faculties cover a broad spectrum of disciplines, and are organised as follows:
- Faculty of Architecture and Urban Planning
- Faculty of Automation and Computer Science
- Faculty of Automotive, Mechatronics and Mechanical Engineering
- Faculty of Civil Engineering
- Faculty of Electronics, Telecommunications and Information Technology
- Faculty of Materials and Environmental Engineering
- Faculty of Building Services Engineering
- Faculty of Electrical Engineering
- Faculty of Industrial Engineering, Robotics and Production Management
- Faculty of Engineering (in Baia Mare)
- Faculty of Humanities (in Baia Mare)
- Faculty of Sciences (in Baia Mare)
The university has a large student body, with over 22,000 students, including both undergraduate and postgraduate students. UTCN has strong research capabilities and collaborates with numerous industry partners. The university is also currently developing an Artificial Intelligence Centre.
