What is an internship
Internship is an experience aimed at introducing students to work or research within a public or private organization. It offers students the opportunity to observe and understand the labour market, and to put into practice skills and knowledge acquired during their training.
Internship activities are supervised by both an academic tutor and a mentor from the hosting institution, and are held according to a predefined internship program.
General Rules for the Internship
Additional Rules for the Internship (specific to the Program):
- An Internship held in an international context is mandatory for students enrolled in Economics and Entrepreneurship.
- It must last at least 300 hours (and accounts for 12 credits) for students firstly enrolled in the academic years 2022/2023 and 2023/2024 and at least 225 hours (9 credits) for students firstly enrolled in the academic years 2020/2021 and 2021/2022.
- The working experience must be held in person in the company/organization offices: as a general rule on-line activities or smart working are not admitted as internship. Some exceptions can be allowed exclusively on the company/organization request and on the basis of the specific task/working activity to be carried out.
- If students decide to use a previous working experience as internship, they must send to the Program's Coordinator (Prof.Sanfilippo: e.sanfilippo@unicas.it) all details about the company/organization (website of the company, name and email address of the company supervisor) and the official documentation attesting their work experience (period, position) in order to receive pre-approval.
FOR ALL STUDENTS: Steps to follow to have the recognition of credits for the internship:
Just after the completion of the internship students must:
1. Write a report according to the EE and GLEB Guidelines. Students who have completed their internship during the Master Program (STANDARD INTERNSHIP) have to write a standard report (between 6000 and 8000 words), while students who ask for recognition of a previous work experience have to write an extensive report (between 12000 and 15000 words);
2. Send the report as a WORD file for pre-approval to the Master's Degree Program Coordinator (Prof. Eleonora Sanfilippo, e.sanfilippo@unicas.it) and in copy to Monica Fragnoli (m.fragnoli@unicas.it). Be aware that this process will take time (no less than two weeks) since some revisions could be requested;
3. Once obtained the pre-approval of the report by the Master Coordinator, students have to follow the General Rules for internship credit request or credits validation application through GOMP
